Constructed in 2009, Casa Hey-Sol is located directly in front of Bahia de Caraquez’s seawall at the southern end of the city’s downtown district. This prime space offers incredible, unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and her gorgeous sunsets.
This beautiful home was crafted by the imagination of designer and proprietor Heizel Lam. Born on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, Heizel fell in love with Ecuador during a vacation to witness the marriage of close friends. She has now been in Bahia de Caraquez for 10 years, calling Ecuador home for more than 15 years.
Originally created as her dream home, Casa Hey-Sol opened for guests in 2013 featuring six rooms for rent and several large gathering spaces. The building was fabricated to Heizel’s specifications creating an unique space in which there are no factory components. This includes the majority of windows, doors, fixtures and even furniture that she designed specifically for the space. This was accomplished with a focus on the repurposing and reuse materials found in Manabi province
Casa Hey-Sol is a peaceful and quiet location within a short walking distance to the center of Bahia. From Casa Hey-Sol, guests can reach any location in the town by taxi in under five minutes.
